Correct use of 'Bring' and 'Take' in Spoken English


Bring is a verb that means to carry something to or toward the speaker. It is always used when the object is moved to where the speaker is. Bring is an irregular verb. The simple past is brought.
Ex - The boss can ask her secretary to bring all the reports to her office.

Take is a verb that means to carry something away from the speaker or the speaker's position.Like bring, it means to carry, but the direction is now away from the speaker, or to a place where the speaker is not located.
Ex - A young lady can take a picnic with her to the park
