आज चंद्र ग्रहण है। इससे अच्छा कौन सा समय होगा जब हम eclipse शब्द के विषय में जानें -
Origin (उत्पत्ति) of the word ECLIPSE:
यह शब्द ancient Greek से लिया गया है। यह ékleipsis (Noun) से लिया गया है जिसका अर्थ "the abandonment"(पूर्ण त्याग), "the downfall"(पतन), या "the darkening of a heavenly body"(खगोलीय पिंड का अंधकारमय में होना) होता है। ECLIPSE ekleípō (verb) जिसका अर्थ "to abandon", "to darken", or "to cease to exist,होता है , से लिया गया है।
अब कुछ अलग अलग तरह के ECLIPSE के बारे में भी जानते हैं। जैसे -
Annular eclipse - कुंडलाकार ग्रहण (only a thin outer disk of the sun can be seen)
lunar eclipse - चंद्र ग्रहण (the earth interrupts light shining on the moon)
solar eclipse - सूर्य ग्रहण (the moon interrupts light from the sun)
total eclipse - पूर्ण ग्रहण/ खग्रास (an eclipse as seen from a place where the eclipsed body is completely obscured)
partial eclipse - आंशिक ग्रहण (an eclipse in which the eclipsed body is only partially obscured)
