There are eight parts of speech namely:
1) Noun (संज्ञा) - ex : pen, dog, work, music, town, London
2) Pronoun (सर्वनाम) - ex : I, you, he, she, some
3) Adjectives (विशेषण) - ex : good, big, red, well, interesting
4) Verb (क्रिया) - ex : pen, dog, work, music, town, London
5) Adverb (क्रिया विशेषण) - ex : quickly, silently, well, badly, very, really
6) Preposition (सम्बन्धबोधक) - ex : to, at, after, on, but
7) Conjunction (समुच्यबोधक) - ex : and, but, when
8) Interjection (विषमयदिबोधक) - ex : oh!, ouch!, hi!, well
