Common verbs that can only be followed by the “-ing form”, not the “to infinitive”
Enjoy: I enjoy playing with small children. (मुझे छोटे बच्चों के साथ खेलना पसंद है)
[Wrong : I enjoy to play with small children.]
Give-up: You must give up drinking. (आपको पीना जरूर छोड़ देना चाहिए।)
[Wrong: to drink]
Miss: I miss having fun at my granny's house. (मैं अपने दादी के घर पर मज़े की कमी महसूस कर रही है।)
[Wrong: to have]
Postpone: I have postponed meeting the doctor. (मैंने चिकित्सक कोके साथ मीटिंग स्थगित कर दी है।)
[Wrong: to meet]
Suggest : I suggest reading more English newspaper. (मैं और अधिक अंग्रेजी अखबार पढ़ने का सुझाव देती हूँ।)
[Wrong: to read]
Involve : The course involved writing three tests. (पाठ्यक्रम में तीन लिखित परीक्षण शामिल है।)
[Wrong: to write]
Mention (say something): She mentioned seeing the robbers at night. (उसने रात में लुटेरों को देखने का उल्लेख किया।)
