Use of conjunction 'Across' in written and Spoken English


1. Across - On the opposite side of
Ex -My Cousin lives across the river.
2. Across - From one side to another
Ex -The boy swam across the river.
3. Across - both sides
Ex- He threw the luggage across his shoulders.
4. Come Across - means meet accidentally / suddenly
Ex - I came across him.
