Use of This/ That (Negative Sentences)

Key Concepts and Their Translation in Hindi Language

In English, we use this and that to refer to things or people.

This is used for something close to us, while that is for something farther away.

In negative sentences, we can use both this and that to show what we do not want or do not have.

This translates to यह and that translates to वह in Hindi.

Usage Examples and Translations

1. This is not my book.

यह मेरी किताब नहीं है।

2. That is not your pen.

वह तुम्हारा पेन नहीं है।

3. This is not a good idea.

यह अच्छा विचार नहीं है।

4. That is not the right answer.

वह सही उत्तर नहीं है।

Key Mistakes

1. Confusing this and that based on distance. Remember, this is for near things and that is for far things.
2. Forgetting to use not in negative sentences. Always include not to make it clear that something is negative.
3. Mixing up singular and plural forms. Use this for singular and these for plural, and similarly for that and those.
