What do Conjunctions Look Like?


Conjunctions have three basic formats:

1. single word
for example: and, but, because, although
ex - I like [tea] and [coffee]. / [Ram likes tea], but [Anthony likes coffee].

2. compound (often ending with as or that)
for example: provided that, as long as, in order that
ex - He's welcome to come along, provided that he behaves himself.

3. correlative (surrounding an adverb or adjective)
for example: so...that
ex - She is too young so that she cannot smoke.
