With the coming of Diwali, the concern over the air quality and its effect on Covid-19 patients have become the chief cause of concern for authorities. Several states, wary of a possible spike in pollution levels due to firecrackers, have issued prohibitory orders. The National Green Tribunal has also issued an order for a complete ban on the sale and use of firecrackers in about 24 districts in Delhi and the neighbourhood. There are at least few states and Union Territories where there is ban or restrictions on the bursting of crackers, like- Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, and Haryana.
