Choksi is a crook, India is free to probe: Antigua PM- Namaste English

Antigua Prime Minister Gaston Browne has said that fugitive Mehul Choksi will be extradited to India after he exhausts his appeals. Speaking to news agency ANI in New York, Browne called him a crook and added that Indian officials are free to come and interrogate him. Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi are prime accused in Rs 13,000 crore Punjab National Bank scam. While Nirav fled to Britain, Chokshi fled to Antigua to escape legal proceedings against them in India. Choksi was granted citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda earlier this year.

एंटीगुआ के प्रधान मंत्री गैस्टन ब्राउन ने कहा है कि भगोड़े मेहुल चोकसी को उनकी अपील समाप्त होने के बाद भारत को प्रत्यर्पित किया जाएगा। न्यूयॉर्क में समाचार एजेंसी एएनआई से बात करते हुए, ब्राउन ने उसे एक धोखेबाज़ कहा और कहा कि भारतीय अधिकारी आने और उससे पूछताछ करने के लिए स्वतंत्र हैं। चोकसी और उनका भतीजा नीरव मोदी 13,000 करोड़ रुपये के पंजाब नेशनल बैंक घोटाले के मुख्य आरोपी हैं। जब नीरव ब्रिटेन भाग गया, चोकसी भारत में अपने खिलाफ कानूनी कार्यवाही से बचने के लिए एंटीगुआ भाग गया। चोकसी को इस साल की शुरुआत में एंटीगुआ और बारबुडा की नागरिकता दी गई थी।
