Reacting to the recent conviction of Dera chief in a rape case, DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal wrote to PM Narendra Modi demanding formulation of stern guidelines and laws to ensure the women safety in such ashrams. She wrote, "The situation is particularly precarious for those girls and women who live in ashrams run by such criminals who masquerade as gurus."
