The Government of India is in constant touch with the family of the missing Indian woman who fell off a ship while transiting through the Singapore Strait from Malaysia's northern island state of Penang. The Indian High Commission located here gave this information on Tuesday. The incident took place on Monday when Rita Sahni (64) and her husband Jakesh Sahni (70) were on their way back to Singapore from Penang on board the ship 'Spectrum of the Seas'. The Indian High Commission said in a series of tweets that it is in constant touch with the Sahni family after receiving the news of the unfortunate incident. The High Commission said that it is also in touch with the Singaporean authorities to resolve the related issues and is trying to facilitate legal procedures. The mission said it has also contacted the head of India affairs of Royal Caribbean Cruise Company. The High Commission said, "We are committed to providing full support to the family in this difficult time."

भारत सरकार मलेशिया के उत्तरी द्वीपीय राज्य पेनांग से सिंगापुर जलडमरूमध्य से गुजरते समय एक जहाज से गिरकर लापता हुई भारतीय महिला के परिवार के साथ लगातार संपर्क में है. यहां स्थित भारतीय उच्चायोग ने मंगलवार को यह जानकारी दी. यह घटना सोमवार को हुई जब रीता साहनी (64) और उनके पति जाकेश साहनी (70) ‘स्पेक्ट्रम ऑफ द सीज' जहाज पर सवार होकर पेनांग से सिंगापुर वापस जा रहे थे. दंपति की चार दिवसीय क्रूज यात्रा का सोमवार को आखिरी दिन था. महिला क्रूज जहाज से पानी में गिर गई. सिंगापुर से रवाना हुए क्रूज जहाज से लापता भारतीय महिला के परिवार के संपर्क में है भारत सरकार. महिला अपने पति के साथ चार दिनोंं की क्रूज यात्रा पर थी. भारतीय उच्चायोग ने सिलसिलेवार ट्वीट में कहा कि दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण घटना की खबर मिलने के बाद से वह साहनी परिवार के साथ लगातार संपर्क में है. उच्चायोग ने कहा कि वह संबंधित मुद्दों के समाधान के लिए सिंगापुर के अधिकारियों के संपर्क में भी है और कानूनी प्रक्रियाओं का सुलभ बनाने की कोशिश कर रहा है. मिशन ने कहा कि उसने रॉयल कैरेबियन क्रूज कंपनी के भारत मामलों के प्रमुख से भी संपर्क किया है. उच्चायोग ने कहा, ‘‘हम इस मुश्किल समय में परिवार का पूरा साथ देने को प्रतिबद्ध हैं.''
