The 44th Junior National Kho Kho championship started at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Gunjur, Bengaluru, yesterday. Around 1,000 young athletes from states and union territories across India are competing in boys’ and girls’ categories. Nearly 40 matches were played on the opening day. The event was inaugurated by former Minister H. Nagesh, with officials from the Kho Kho Federation of India and Karnataka State Kho Kho Association in attendance. The tournament follows a league-cum-knockout format, with semifinals 3rd January and finals on 4th January. Meanwhile, the 58th Senior National Kho Kho championship will be held in Kazipet, Telangana, from 11th to 15th January and the 35th Sub-Junior Nationals in Kurukshetra, Haryana, from 31st January to 4th February.
44वीं जूनियर राष्ट्रीय खो खो चैंपियनशिप कल बेंगलुरु के गुंजुर स्थित अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी स्टेडियम में शुरू हुई। भारत भर के राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के लगभग 1,000 युवा खिलाड़ी लड़कों और लड़कियों की श्रेणियों में प्रतिस्पर्धा कर रहे हैं। पहले दिन लगभग 40 मैच खेले गए। इस आयोजन का उद्घाटन पूर्व मंत्री एच. नागेश ने किया। इस अवसर पर खो खो फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया और कर्नाटक राज्य खो खो एसोसिएशन के अधिकारी भी उपस्थित थे। टूर्नामेंट लीग-कम-नॉकआउट प्रारूप में खेला जाएगा, जिसके सेमीफाइनल 3 जनवरी को और फाइनल 4 जनवरी को होंगे। वहीं, 58वीं सीनियर राष्ट्रीय खो खो चैंपियनशिप 11 से 15 जनवरी तक तेलंगाना के काजीपेट में और 35वीं सब-जूनियर राष्ट्रीय चैंपियनशिप 31 जनवरी से 4 फरवरी तक हरियाणा के कुरुक्षेत्र में आयोजित की जाएगी।
