Railway and road traffic were hampered in Mumbai on Wednesday after Dalit activists called for a bandh across Maharashtra. They began their protest after a man was killed in clashes during celebrations in Bhima Koregaon near Pune on Monday. Section 144 imposed in Thane. A call for a statewide bandh has been given by Prakash Ambedkar, the grandson of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and chief of the Bhartiya Republican Party Bahujan Mahasangh.
