Opposition parties submit impeachment motion against CJI- Namaste English

Congress on Friday handed over the notice to Rajya Sabha Speaker Venkaiah Naidu for bringing impeachment motion against Chief Justice of India, Deepak Mishra. As many as 64 Parliamentarians (MPs) belonging to seven political parties signed the notice that has been issued on the grounds of misbehaviour. The Congress leader, Kapil Sibal stated that the opposition's concern is that democracy is being undermined. This move has come after the CJI-led bench dismissed petitions seeking a probe into Judge Loya's death.

कांग्रेस ने शुक्रवार को भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश दीपक मिश्रा के खिलाफ महाभियोग प्रस्ताव लाने का नोटिस राज्यसभा के सभापति वेंकैया नायडू को सौंपा। सात राजनीतिक पार्टियों से जुड़े 64 सांसदों (MPs) ने इस नोटिस पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं जो कि दुर्व्यवहार के आधार पर जारी किया गया है। कांग्रेस नेता कपिल सिब्बल ने कहा कि विपक्ष इस बात से चिंतित है कि लोकतंत्र को खोखला किया जा रहा है। CJI की अगुवाई वाली न्यायपीठ द्वारा जज लोया की मौत की जांच के लिए की गयी याचिकाओं को खारिज कर देने बाद यह कदम उठाया गया है।
