The Supreme Court refused on Friday to modify its order banning firecracker sales in Delhi-NCR until the end of this month and has lamented the communal colour given to it by the people. The apex court has reiterated that this ban is a temporary experiment to gauge air quality and added that the issue should not be politicised.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने शुक्रवार को इस महीने के अंत तक दिल्ली-NCR में पटाखों की बिक्री पर प्रतिबंध लगाने के अपने आदेश को संशोधित करने से मना कर दिया और इसे लोगों द्वारा सांप्रदायिक रंग दिए जाने पर दुःख जताया है। सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने दोहराया है कि यह प्रतिबंध केवल हवा की गुणवत्ता को मापने के लिए एक अस्थायी प्रयोग है और कहा कि इस मुद्दे का राजनीतिकरण नहीं किया जाना चाहिए।
