Thousands of students protested outside the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Gate number 2 in Prayagraj on Monday, demanding the conduct of the Provincial Civil Services (PCS ) prelims and Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) examinations in one shift. They held placards and shouted slogans against normalisation. The students started gathering at the UPPSC in the morning, and by noon, thousands, including women, marched towards UPPSC Gate no 2. Neither the Barricading nor senior officials’ attempts to pacify them yielded any results. Students got into an ‘altercation’ with the police, and the protestors broke the barricade and assembled outside the UPPSC gate. The Police had to use ‘mild force’ when some students became aggressive and tried to enter the UPPSC. The students dispersed but soon reassembled. Meanwhile, DCP city Abhishek Bharti denied using force on students and added that the students were protesting peacefully. Heavy forces, including paramilitary, have been deployed outside UPPSC and on routes towards the commission, where around 8000 students, including locals, are protesting.

प्रांतीय सिविल सेवा (पीसीएस) प्रारंभिक और समीक्षा अधिकारी एवं सहायक समीक्षा अधिकारी (आरओ/एआरओ) परीक्षा एक ही पाली में कराने की मांग को लेकर हजारों छात्रों ने सोमवार को प्रयागराज में उत्तर प्रदेश लोक सेवा आयोग (यूपीपीएससी) गेट नंबर 2 के बाहर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। उन्होंने तख्तियां पकड़ रखी थीं और सामान्यीकरण के खिलाफ नारे लगाए। छात्र सुबह यूपीपीएससी में इकट्ठा होना शुरू हो गए और दोपहर तक महिलाओं समेत हजारों की संख्या में यूपीपीएससी गेट नंबर 2 की ओर बढ़ गए। न तो बैरिकेडिंग और न ही वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों द्वारा उन्हें शांत करने के प्रयासों का कोई नतीजा निकला। छात्रों की पुलिस के साथ 'झगड़ा' हुआ और प्रदर्शनकारियों ने बैरिकेड तोड़ दिए और यूपीपीएससी गेट के बाहर इकट्ठा हो गए। जब कुछ छात्र आक्रामक हो गए और यूपीपीएससी में घुसने की कोशिश की तो पुलिस को 'हल्का बल' प्रयोग करना पड़ा यूपीपीएससी के बाहर और आयोग की ओर जाने वाले मार्गों पर अर्धसैनिक बलों सहित भारी बल तैनात किया गया है, जहां स्थानीय लोगों सहित लगभग 8000 छात्र विरोध प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं।
