Transport strike in Assam- Namaste English

The apex body of transporters in Assam has called an indefinite strike across the state from 6 am on Monday over alleged government inaction to address their issue of mounting losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) on Sunday said all passenger vehicles ranging from autorickshaws to buses will remain off the roads. The government has requested AAMTA to withdraw the strike and invited its leaders for a meeting on October 6, but the organization said its agitation will continue until anything concrete comes from the administration.

असम में ट्रांसपोर्टर्स के शीर्ष निकाय ने कोविड -19 महामारी के कारण बढ़ते नुकसान के अपने मुद्दे को संबोधित करने के लिए कथित सरकारी निष्क्रियता पर सोमवार सुबह 6 बजे से राज्य भर में अनिश्चितकालीन हड़ताल का आह्वान किया है। ऑल असम मोटर ट्रांसपोर्ट एसोसिएशन ने रविवार को कहा कि ऑटोरिक्शा से लेकर बसों तक सभी यात्री वाहन सड़कों से दूर रहेंगे। सरकार ने हड़ताल वापस लेने का अनुरोध किया है और अपने नेताओं को 6 अक्टूबर को बैठक के लिए आमंत्रित किया है, लेकिन संगठन ने कहा कि जब तक प्रशासन की ओर से कुछ भी ठोस नहीं होता तब तक इसका आंदोलन जारी रहेगा।
