Vodafone-Idea will be shut down: KM Birla

Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, has said that if the government does not provide relief, Vodafone-Idea will be shut down. When the business strategy was asked, Birla said, 'There is no point in investing more money in sinking money. Significantly, Vodafone Idea suffered the biggest quarterly loss in India's corporate history in the second quarter of the current financial year. The company had a financial loss of Rs 50,922 crore in the quarter. This loss to Vodafone-Idea is equal to 10 times the total revenue earned by the company from year to year. At the same time, in the AGR verdict given by the Supreme Court, Vodafone-Idea was directed to pay Rs 28,300 crore.

आदित्य बिड़ला ग्रुप के चेयरमेन कुमार मंगलम बिड़ला ने कहा है कि अगर सरकार राहत नहीं देती है, तो वोडाफोन-आइडिया बंद हो जाएगी। जब उनसे कंपनी की रणनीति के बारे में पूछा गया , बिड़ला ने कहा, 'डूबते पैसे में और पैसा निवेश कर देने का कोई मतलब नहीं है। गौरतलब है कि वोडाफोन आइडिया को चालू वित्त वर्ष की दूसरी तिमाही में भारत के कॉरपोरेट इतिहास का सबसे बड़ा तिमाही नुकसान हुआ था। कंपनी को इस तिमाही में 50,922 करोड़ रुपये का वित्तीय घाटा हुआ था। वोडाफोन-आइडिया को हुआ यह घाटा कंपनी द्वारा साल-दर-साल कमाए गए कुल राजस्व के 10 गुने के बराबर है। वहीं सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा दिये गए AGR निर्णयमें वोडाफोन-आइडिया को 28,300 करोड़ रुपये का भुगतान करने का निर्देश दिया गया था।
