Fundamental rule of Capitalization


A. The first word in a sentence. Example : I grew up in India.
B. The first letter of a proper noun (specific name). Example : I graduated from the University of Delhi.
C. The first letter of months, days, and holidays (but not seasons).Example : Today is June 8, 2011.
D. The first letter of nationalities, religions, races of people, and languages.Example : We often eat Italian food.
E. The first letter in a person’s title.Example : This is Dr. Simon.
F. Geographic areas: cities, states, countries, mountains, oceans, rivers, etc. Example :Gangan is the holy river of India.
G. Historical periods.Example : The Renaissance began in the 14th century.
