साल खत्म होने वाला है और New Year से पहले एक long weekend आ रहा है। अधिकतर लोगों ने कहीं घूमने का programme अभी तक बना ही लिया होगा। आज हम घूमने जाने से सम्बंधित vocabulary सीखते हैं।
घूमने या फिर सफ़र करने के लिए सामान्यतः हम कुछ शब्द use करते हैं जैसे TRAVEL/ TRIP आदि. पर इन सभी के अर्थ में थोड़ा अंतर है जिसके कारण इनका प्रयोग अलग अलग स्थितियों में होता है। ऐसे ही कुछ और शब्दों को जानें -
Travel – सफ़र/ यात्रा करना (used to show when someone goes from one place to another)
I like to travel a lot. (मुझे यात्रा करना बहुत पसंद है।)
Trip – दौरा (a visit to a new environment, usually for a short amount of time)
We had a fantastic trip to Australia. (हमारा ऑस्ट्रेलिया का दौरा शानदार यात्रा था।)
Journey – सफ़र (the amount of travelling required to reach a destination)
It was a long journey, it took 6 hours! (यह एक लंबी यात्रा थी, इसमें 6 घंटे लग गए!)
Tour – भ्रमण/ मनोरंजन के लिए यात्रा (trravelling to many different places during one trip)
We took a tour of New Delhi, we visited Akshardham, Red Fort and India Gate. It was great! (हमने नई दिल्ली का भ्रमण किया, हम अक्षरधाम, लाल किला और इंडिया गेट गए। वह बहुत अच्छा था!)
Voyage/ Cruise – समुद्रयात्रा/ समुद्र में जहाज से घूमना फिरना (the same as journey, but an older word/ )
My grandfather went on a long voyage looking for treasure. (मेरे दादा ख़ज़ाने की ख़ोज में एक लंबी यात्रा पर गए।)
We took a luxury cruise to New Zealand. (हमने न्यूजीलैंड के लिए एक लक्जरी क्रूज लिया।)
Excursion – घूमना/ भ्रमण (a planned trip to visit a few landmarks or points of interest)
We went on an excursion through the hills. (हम पहाड़ियों के बीच भ्रमण पर गए।)
Expedition – खोजयात्रा (a trip designed for discovery and furthering of knowledge)
The explorers planned an expedition to the Himalayas. (खोजकर्ताओं ने हिमालय के लिए एक खोजयात्रा की योजना बनाई थी।)
