1. खेल -कूद (sports)के नामों से पहले article का प्रयोग नहीं होता है
जैसे- I play badminton. ना कि I play the badminton.

2. भोजन सामग्री तथा भोजन के नामों से पहले article नहीं लगता है
जैसे- I like bread and butter. ना कि I like the bread and butter.

3. व्यक्ति, गाँव, शहर, जिला, राज्य, देश, महादेश के खास नाम से पहले article नहीं लगता है
जैसे-Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. ना कि Jaipur is the capital of the Rajsthan.

4.Man, Woman, life, Death, Art, Science का प्रयोग यदि व्यापक अर्थ में हो तो इनके पहले article का प्रयोग नहीं होता है
जैसे- Man is Mortal., ना कि The man is Mortal.

5. School, Church, College, Hospital, Prison, Court, Bed का प्रयोग मौलिक उद्देश्य के लिए हो तो इनके पहले article नहीं लगता है
जैसे-The injured boy was sent to hospital. ना कि The injured boy was send to the hospital.
