Rules for THE


When you see article THE before uncountable noun then see if the sentence is said in a general sense or particular sense.
E.g.
The work done by Mahesh is remarkable. (particular)
The work is worship (general)-- Work is worship

If the motive of going to a place is not mentioned for any particular place then don’t use THE
E.g.
I am going to Sarojini Nagar market
I am going to the Sarojini Nagar market to buy earrings.

Where to use THE article
Ordinal words- First, second, third…
Cardinal- one, two, three, four…
Ordinal- The third chapter of this book is very important.
Cardinal- The three girls who came yesterday were my friends.
