Use of This/ That (Negative Sentences)

Key Concepts and Their Translation in Hindi Language

In English, we use this and that to refer to things or people.

This is used for something close to us, while that is for something farther away.

In negative sentences, we can say "This is not..." or "That is not...".

In Hindi, this is translated as यह (Yah) and that as वह (Vah).

Usage Examples and Translations

1. This is not my book.

यह मेरी किताब नहीं है।

2. That is not your pen.

वह तुम्हारा पेन नहीं है।

Key Mistakes

1. Using this for something far away: "This is not my car" when the car is far. It should be that instead.

3. Mixing up this and that in negative sentences can confuse the listener. Always remember the distance!
