The Madras high court on Thursday upheld the disqualification order passed by Tamil Nadu assembly speaker P Dhanapal,  in which 18 rebel MLAs of AIDMK were expelled from the assembly under the anti-defection law. Justice M Sathyanarayanan, the third judge appointed to hear and decide the matter, pronounced this verdict in a packed court hall which brought a wave of jubilation to CM Palaniswami’s camp. On the other hand, this verdict is a huge setback for T.T.V. Dhinakaran.
