Angered by the Indian Banks' Association's proposal of only 2% hike in salary, around 10 lakh public sector bank employees are going on a two-day strike starting Wednesday. All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) joint general secretary Ravinder Gupta said, “It is kind of an insult to the employees of public sector banks to be offered this kind of meagre increment. This is a gross injustice with the banking sector that has worked very hard for nation-building." Since the strike is happening at the month-end, it is likely to hinder the salary withdrawals and other banking activities across the country.
