The Hindi film "Newton", based on the foibles of Indian democracy, has been chosen unanimously by the FFI's selection committee to represent India at the 90th Academy Awards next year. In the movie, the lead character, Rajkumar Rao plays the role of an earnest poll officer who is determined to hold elections in a Chhattisgarh village despite the threat of Naxalite violence.
