Amid the ongoing cash crunch situation in the country, members of the ATM industry have blamed banks for not supplying adequate cash which has resulted in the sudden currency shortage.  However, a statement issued by the ministry of finance on Tuesday tried to allay this fear. CP Chandrasekhar, professor of economics at JNU says that at a time when the cash supply situation is already tight, even a minor cash shortage can trigger hoarding practices. 

देश में चल रहे नकदी संकट की स्थिति के बीच, ATM उद्योग के सदस्यों ने बैंकों पर पर्याप्त कैश की आपूर्ति नहीं करने का आरोप लगाया है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप अचानक मुद्रा की कमी हो गयी  है। हालांकि, वित्त मंत्रालय ने मंगलवार को एक बयान जारी कर इस भय को शांत करने की कोशिश की। JNU के अर्थशास्त्र के प्रोफेसर C.P चंद्रशेखर ने कहना है कि ऐसे वक्त में जब नकदी की आपूर्ति की स्थिति पहले से ही तंग है, कैश की थोड़ी सी कमी भी होर्डिंग की प्रक्रिया को सक्रिय कर सकती है।
