Normal life was disrupted in several parts of the country as on Monday, Congress-led 21 opposition parties participated in the Bharat Bandh against the exorbitant rise in petrol and diesel prices. To oppose the government's inability to curb the rise in fuel prices, a continuous slump in of rupee's value and other issue related to inflation, activists held protest marches, blockaded the means of transport and forced closure of shops across the country. Normalcy cannot be expected anytime soon.

देश के कई हिस्सों में सामान्य जीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया क्योंकि सोमवार को  पेट्रोल-डीज़ल की कीमतों में अत्यधिक बढ़ोतरी के खिलाफ कांग्रेस की अगुआई में 21 विपक्षी दलों ने भारत बंद में भाग लिया।  ईंधन की कीमतों में वृद्धि को रोकने में सरकार की असक्षमता, रूपये के मूल्य में निरंतर गिरावट व महंगाई से जुड़े अन्य मुद्दों का विरोध करने के लिए प्रदर्शनकारियों द्वारा देश भर में विरोध मार्च आयोजित किए गए, यातायात के साधनों का अवरोध व जबरन दुकानों को बंद किया गया । फ़िलहाल सामान्य स्थिति की कोई अपेक्षा नहीं की जा सकती है।
