India has reached the third position in the latest world rankings of the International Boxing Association (IBA). Indian boxers collected 36,300 ranking points, helping the country overtake top boxing 'powerhouses' like the United States of America (USA) and Cuba, who are currently ranked fourth and ninth respectively in the rankings. Kazakhstan (48,100) is the country occupying the top ranking followed by Uzbekistan (37,600). Indian boxing has seen phenomenal growth in recent years with teams consistently featuring in the top five countries at global tournaments such as the World Championships, the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games. Indian boxers won 16 medals in the last two Commonwealth Games. Since 2008, he has won 140 medals in top international tournaments. At the same time, since 2016, Indian boxers have won 16 Elite World Championship medals in men's and women's categories. The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) also hosted several major tournaments in the country and now from March 15 to 26, the prestigious Women's World Boxing Championship will be organized in the country for the third time.

भारत अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुक्केबाजी संघ (IBA) की ताजा विश्व रैंकिंग में तीसरे स्थान पर पहुंच गया है. भारतीय मुक्केबाजों ने 36,300 रैंकिंग अंक जुटाए जिससे देश ने अमेरिका (USA) और क्यूबा जैसे टॉप मुक्केबाजी 'पावरहाउस' को पीछे छोड़ दिया जो मौजूदा रैंकिंग में क्रमशः चौथे और नौंवे स्थान पर हैं. कजाखस्तान (48,100) टॉप रैंकिंग पर काबिज देश है जिसके बाद उज्बेकिस्तान (37,600) दूसरे स्थान पर है. भारतीय मुक्केबाजी ने हाल के वर्षों में अभूतपूर्व बढ़ोतरी की है जिसमें टीमें लगातार वैश्विक टूर्नामेंट जैसे वर्ल्ड चैम्पियनशिप, एशियाई खेल (Asian Games) और राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों (Commonwealth Games) में टॉप पांच देशों में शामिल रही. पिछले दो राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में भारतीय मुक्केबाजों ने 16 पदक जीते. 2008 से टॉप अंतरराष्ट्रीय टूर्नामेंट में उन्होंने 140 पदक हासिल किए. वहीं 2016 से भारतीय मुक्केबाजों ने पुरुष और महिला वर्गों में 16 एलीट वर्ल्ड चैम्पियनशिप (World Championship) पदक जीते.  भारतीय मुक्केबाजी महासंघ (BFI) ने भी देश में कई बड़े टूर्नामेंट की मेजबानी की और अब 15 से 26 मार्च तक देश में तीसरी बार प्रतिष्ठित महिला वर्ल्ड मुक्केबाजी चैम्पियनशिप का आयोजन किया जाएगा.
