To protest against  the atrocities on Dalits and the caste violence that erupted on April 2 during Bharat bandh, Congress president Rahul Gandhi sat on a day-long fast on Monday at Rajghat to promote communal harmony. However, even before Congress president Rahul Gandhi reached Rajghat,  senior party leaders Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, who are accused of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, were reportedly sent back. BJP, on the other hand, has accused the Opposition of abetting violence on Dalit issues.
