A day after police clashed with the students of Jamia Millia Islamia University, vice chancellor Najma Akhtar on Monday demanded a high-level inquiry and added that the university will be filing an FIR against the entry of the police inside the university campus. Akhtar said that the police entered the campus without permission and added that the administration will present the facts of the clashes to human resource and development ministry. "Don't target Jamia and malign its students. You can rebuild the property but you cannot compensate for the things the students went through," she said.

जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया विश्वविद्यालय के छात्रों के साथ पुलिस की झड़प होने के एक दिन बाद, कुलपति नजमा अख्तर ने सोमवार को उच्च स्तरीय जांच की मांग की और कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय विश्वविद्यालय परिसर के अंदर पुलिस के प्रवेश के खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज करेगा। अख्तर ने कहा कि पुलिस ने बिना अनुमति के परिसर में प्रवेश किया और जोड़ा  कि प्रशासन मानव संसाधन और विकास मंत्रालय को झड़प के तथ्य पेश करेगा। उन्होंने कहा, "जामिया को निशाना न बनाएं और उसके छात्रों को बदनाम ना करें। आप संपत्ति को फिर से बना सकते हैं लेकिन आप उन चीजों की भरपाई नहीं कर सकते हैं, जिससे छात्र होकर गुजरे हैं।"
