The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) facilitated the flag-off of a one MT consignment of GI-tagged Gulbarga Tur Dal from Karnataka to the Maldives. The consignment, exported yesterday by M/s Silken Global Exports and Imports, Mysuru, through its Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO)-led brand, will be transported to the Maldives by sea. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the initiative is aimed at expanding international markets for India’s GI-tagged agricultural products and strengthening the participation of FPO-led brands in agri exports.

 कृषि एवं प्रसंस्कृत खाद्य उत्पाद निर्यात विकास प्राधिकरण (APEDA) ने कर्नाटक से मालदीव के लिए जीआई-टैग वाली गुलबर्गा तुअर दाल की एक मीट्रिक टन खेप को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना करने में सहायता की। मैसूरु स्थित मेसर्स सिल्कन ग्लोबल एक्सपोर्ट्स एंड इम्पोर्ट्स द्वारा किसान उत्पादक संगठन (एफपीओ) के नेतृत्व वाले ब्रांड के माध्यम से कल निर्यात की गई यह खेप समुद्री मार्ग से मालदीव जाएगी। वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय ने कहा कि इस पहल का उद्देश्य भारत के जीआई-टैग वाले कृषि उत्पादों के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारों का विस्तार करना और कृषि निर्यात में एफपीओ के नेतृत्व वाले ब्रांडों की भागीदारी को मजबूत करना है।
