In the opening T20 match of the first limited overs series between India and Afghanistan on Thursday, all eyes will be on the returning Rohit Sharma as Virat Kohli has withdrawn from the match due to 'personal reasons'. However, Kohli will be available for the second and third T20 International. Before talking to the media during the press conference, India's head coach Rahul Dravid told that Kohli has withdrawn due to 'family reasons'. Both Rohit and Kohli are returning to the shortest format of the game after 14 months with this series. This three-match series is the last for India before the T20 World Cup to be held in June and will help in preparing the team combination for the World Cup to be held in America and West Indies. The Afghanistan team will be without its star spinner Rashid Khan, who is still not fully fit after back surgery in November. Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran said in the pre-match press conference, 'He is not completely fit. We will miss him and his absence will affect our performance but we have to be prepared for all kinds of situations. On the other hand, Rohit is a favorite of the spectators and despite the heavy cold wave due to his playing, there is a lot of excitement about this match in Mohali. Captain Rohit would like to repeat the same aggressive style in the powerplay that he showed in the ODI World Cup.
