Congress leader Shashi Tharoor slammed a survey done by Thomson Reuters Foundation that has ranked India as the world’s “most dangerous” country for women. Calling this statement as "sweeping", Tharoor expressed astonishment that countries like Afghanistan, Syria and Pakistan fared better than India on the list. He suggested that work should be done to ensure a safe environment for women in India, instead of just quibbling.
