In a declaration issued at the culmination of the two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in China, India refused to endorse China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). reiterating his stern stance against BRI, PM Narendra Modi said that India would welcome only those connectivity projects which respect its sovereignty and regional integrity.
Of the eight nations, India was the only country to dissent this project because it includes the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which passes through the PoK.
