At the Asian Games, the Indian trio of Maheshwari Singh, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Raiza Dhillon secured the bronze medal in the women’s team skeet shooting event at Aichi-Nagoya, taking country’s overall medal tally on Day 4 to eight.In another feat, Jay Meena made history in soft tennis, assuring country its first-ever medal in the sport. Jay has advanced to the semifinals, defeating Sherwin Nuguit of the Philippines 4-3 in a closely fought quarterfinal. 

In shooting, Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker has qualified for the final of women’s 10-metre air pistol event. She finished third in the qualification round. However, the trio of Manu, Suruchi Singh and Esha Singh failed to qualify in the team event.
