The men and women of Nandgaon and Barsana village kicked-off Holi celebrations with Lathmar Holi, a famous tradition from Mathura. In this Lathmar Holi, while men try to drench women in colours, the women reciprocate their attempts with lathis. Every year, spectators from all parts of the country and abroad reach Mathura to enjoy the zest of Lathmar Holi.

नंदगांव और बरसाना गांव के पुरुषों और महिलाओं ने मथुरा की एक प्रसिद्ध परंपरा, लठमार होली के साथ होली के त्यौहार की शुरुआत की। इस लाठमार होली में, जहाँ एक तरफ पुरुष महिलाओं को रंगों से सराबोर करने की कोशिश करते हैं, वहीँ महिलाएं भी पुरुषों के इस प्रयास का जवाब लाठी से देती हैं। हर साल, देश के सभी हिस्सों और विदेशों से लोग लठमार होली के उत्साह का आनंद लेने के लिए मथुरा पहुंचते हैं।
