Following the success of the Varanasi Harit Koyla Pariyojna (Green Coal project), Macawber Beekay Private Limited (MBL) a pioneer in the waste-to-energy segment with its innovative technology, has bagged three more Green Coal projects in India, for Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), and Hubli (Karnataka). The largest project with 900 tonnes per day (TPD) capacity would come up in Noida whereas Bhopal and Hubli would have 500 and 400 TPD respectively. Including Varanasi project, the three more projects shall have a combined installed capacity to handle 2400 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day by August 2025. NTPC is expected to get over 800 tonnes of Green Coal per day collectively from the four projects. Nearly four years ago India’s power generation Maharatna NTPC Limited had planned to make green coal (torrefied charcoal) from municipal waste. To execute the project, its subsidiary NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd, awarded the project on an EPC basis to Macawber Beekay. The total capacity of this Green Coal plant is 600 TPD of waste handling capacity. This plant generates 200 tonnes of Green Coal with input of 600 TPD of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW).

वाराणसी हरित कोयला परियोजना (हरित कोयला परियोजना) की सफलता के बाद, अपने अभिनव प्रौद्योगिकी के साथ अपशिष्ट से ऊर्जा खंड में अग्रणी मैकॉबर बीके प्राइवेट लिमिटेड (एमबीएल) ने भारत में नोएडा (उत्तर प्रदेश), भोपाल (मध्य प्रदेश) और हुबली (कर्नाटक) के लिए तीन और हरित कोयला परियोजनाएं हासिल की हैं। 900 टन प्रतिदिन (टीपीडी) क्षमता वाली सबसे बड़ी परियोजना नोएडा में आएगी जबकि भोपाल और हुबली में क्रमशः 500 और 400 टीपीडी होगी। वाराणसी परियोजना सहित, तीन और परियोजनाओं में अगस्त 2025 तक प्रति दिन 2400 टन नगरपालिका ठोस अपशिष्ट को संभालने की संयुक्त स्थापित क्षमता होगी। एनटीपीसी को चार परियोजनाओं से सामूहिक रूप से प्रतिदिन 800 टन से अधिक हरित कोयला मिलने की उम्मीद है। परियोजना को क्रियान्वित करने के लिए, इसकी सहायक कंपनी एनटीपीसी विद्युत व्यापार निगम लिमिटेड ने मैकॉबर बीके को ईपीसी आधार पर परियोजना सौंपी। इस ग्रीन कोल प्लांट की कुल क्षमता 600 टीपीडी अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन क्षमता है। यह प्लांट 600 टीपीडी नगरपालिका ठोस अपशिष्ट (एमएसडब्लू) के इनपुट के साथ 200 टन ग्रीन कोल उत्पन्न करता है।
