Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday criticized the previous governments for being lax in the procurement of defence equipment and said such “laziness” has caused damage to the nation. “There was a time when, like many other aspects of governance, the critical issue of defence preparedness was also hampered by policy paralysis,” the PM said while inaugurating the Defence Expo 2018. More than 670 companies that prepare defense consignments are participating in this four-day expo.
