Keeping this system in mind, the Panchayat system was implemented. India is a country of varied terrains and localities with each of them having their unique properties. Hence, when we think of the country's development as a whole, it is important to understand the variety of communities, diversity and localities that exist. By the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act in 1993, the Panchayati Raj system came into act to implement development at the grassroot level and allow for democracy to happen in each and every corner of the country. As we gear up to celebrate National Panchayati raj Day, here are a few things that we should be aware of. Every year, National Panchayati Raj Day is celebrated on April 24. This year, the special day falls on Wednesday.
