Warship INS Kolkata, carrying 35 pirates who were apprehended in an operation off the coast of Somalia, reached Mumbai this morning, the Navy said. These pirates were then handed over to the Mumbai police, it said. The exercise was undertaken as part of the ongoing Operation Sankalp, wherein Indian Navy ships are deployed in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden for the safety of seafarers and mercantile trade passing through the region. "INS Kolkata, with the 35 apprehended pirates, returned to Mumbai on March 23 and handed over the pirates to the local police for further legal action in accordance with Indian laws, specifically the Maritime Anti Piracy Act 2022," the Navy said.

नौसेना ने कहा कि सोमालिया के तट पर एक अभियान में पकड़े गए 35 समुद्री लुटेरों को लेकर युद्धपोत आईएनएस कोलकाता आज सुबह मुंबई पहुंचा। इसके बाद इन समुद्री लुटेरों को मुंबई पुलिस को सौंप दिया गया। यह अभ्यास चल रहे ऑपरेशन संकल्प के हिस्से के रूप में किया गया था, जिसमें भारतीय नौसेना के जहाजों को क्षेत्र से गुजरने वाले नाविकों और व्यापारिक व्यापार की सुरक्षा के लिए अरब सागर और अदन की खाड़ी में तैनात किया गया है। नौसेना का युद्धपोत आईएनएस कोलकाता 35 समुद्री लुटेरों को ले जा रहा है।
 नौसेना ने कहा, "आईएनएस कोलकाता पकड़े गए 35 समुद्री लुटेरों को लेकर 23 मार्च को मुंबई लौटा और भारतीय कानूनों, विशेष रूप से समुद्री समुद्री डकैती रोधी अधिनियम 2022 के अनुसार आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई के लिए समुद्री लुटेरों को स्थानीय पुलिस को सौंप दिया।"
