After facing flak for its decision to ban the recorded music at all of Delhi's restro-bars, Delhi Excise Department tried to clarify their side. Actually, the issued circular reiterated that L-17 licensee is allowed only for live singing or playing of instruments by professionals and violation of these rules shall lead to strict action as per law. This was issued after a number of local residents complained about the nuisance caused by many restro-bars in the city. However, nowhere did the circular mention that recorded music was banned.
