The government on Tuesday made it clear that no document will be collected during the updation of the National Population Register (NPR) and providing Aadhaar number during the same only voluntary. The government is in discussion with the states having concerns with regard to the preparation of the NPR. The demographic and other particulars of each family and individual are to be updated/collected during the exercise of updation of NPR.

सरकार ने मंगलवार को यह स्पष्ट कर दिया कि राष्ट्रीय जनसंख्या रजिस्टर (एनपीआर) के अपडेशन के दौरान कोई दस्तावेज एकत्र नहीं किया जाएगा और इसी दौरान आधार संख्या प्रदान करना केवल स्वैच्छिक है। सरकार उन राज्यों के साथ चर्चा कर रही है जिन्हें एनपीआर की तैयारी के संबंध में मुद्दे हैं। प्रत्येक परिवार और व्यक्ति के जनसांख्यिकीय और अन्य विवरण को एनपीआर के अपडेशन के दौरान अपडेटिड / एकत्र किया जाना है।
