The Union government has decided to allow corporate India to use their mandatory corporate social responsibility (CSR) spending on publicly-funded incubators and contribute to research efforts in science, technology, medicine and engineering at major institutions and bodies. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the rules governing the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) spending norms have been amended to pave the way for greater investment into research.

केंद्र सरकार ने कॉर्पोरेट भारत को सार्वजनिक रूप से फंडिड इनक्यूबेटरों पर अपने अनिवार्य कॉर्पोरेट सोशल रिस्पॉन्सिबिलिटी (सीएसआर) खर्च का उपयोग करने की अनुमति देने और और प्रमुख संस्थानों और निकायों में विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी, चिकित्सा और इंजीनियरिंग में अनुसंधान प्रयासों में योगदान देने का निर्णय लिया है । केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि कॉरपोरेट सोशल रिस्पॉन्सिबिलिटी (CSR) खर्च मानदंडों को नियंत्रित करने वाले नियमों में संशोधन किया गया है ताकि शोध में अधिक निवेश का मार्ग प्रशस्त हो सके।
