In front of Khandwa Municipal Corporation, farmer Ghanshyam of Bherukheda piled onions and distributed them for free. Ghanshyam had reached Mandi before distributing onions for free. There, onions were being sold at Rs 1 to 3 per kg. Ghanshyam says, "The cost itself is around Rs 6 per kg. Ghanshyam said, brought 20-25 bags to the market, distributed them. The cost of one acre is Rs 80,000, onion was not sold even for a single rupee. '''''''' Farmer Kamlesh Patel was more angry, so he threw his produce in the drain. Kamlesh Patel said, "Onions are making us cry, rotting in the fields, sheep and goats are eating them." Too much damage. Nothing is coming in the market for one rupee per kg.

बेमौसम बरसात ने इस बार किसानों को खूब परेशान किया है. उत्पादन कम होने के साथ ही दाम भी कम मिल रहे हैं. इससे किसानों की लागत भी नहीं निकल रही है. पानी लगने से फसलों की रंगत और गुणवत्ता दोनों पर असर पड़ा है. इस वजह से कहीं प्याज को नाली में फेंकने और कहीं मुफ्त में बांटने की खबरें आ रही हैं.खंडवा नगर निगम के सामने भेरूखेड़ा के किसान घनश्याम ने प्याज का ढेर लगाया और मुफ्त में बांट दिया. प्याज मुफ्त में बांटने से पहले घनश्याम मंडी पहुंचे थे. वहां प्याज एक से तीन रुपये प्रति किलो बिक रही थी. घनश्याम का कहना है कि, ''लागत ही लगभग छह रुपये प्रति किलो है. घनश्याम ने कहा, मंडी में 20-25 कट्टे लेकर आ गया, बांट दिया. एक एकड़ में 80000 रुपये की लागत है, एक रुपये की भी प्याज नहीं बेची.'' किसान कमलेश पटेल ज्यादा नाराज थे, तो उन्होंने अपनी उपज नाले में फेंक दी. कमलेश पटेल ने कहा, ''प्याज रुला रही है, खेतों में सड़ रही है, भेड़ बकरी खा रही हैं. बहुत ज्यादा नुकसान है. मंडी में एक रुपये किलो में कुछ हाथ नहीं आ रहा है.''
