Out-of-favour Indian opener Prithvi Shaw returned to form on Wednesday, scoring 244 off 153 balls for Northamptonshire in England's One-Day Cup tournament against Somerset here. The 23-year-old, who is playing his first county season, smashed 28 fours and 11 sixes during his second List A double century. It was his ninth List A century and the first since his 165 against Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy semi-final, when he won Mumbai the title in 2020–21. Playing his third game for Northamptonshire, Shaw brought up his first century for the team off 81 balls. After this, he crossed the 200-run mark in just 129 balls with the help of 24 fours and eight sixes and brought Northamptonshire to 415/8 after batting. The Mumbai batsman scored his maiden List A double century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in February 2021, scoring an unbeaten 227 against Puducherry. After a promising start to his career, Shaw has now slipped down the pecking order for India. Shaw, who scored a mammoth 379 in the Ranji Trophy match against Assam, hasn't had a good IPL for Delhi Capitals.
