After stating that a low pressure is likely to brew in the South-east Arabian sea on Friday, which could lead to a cyclonic storm, the IMD has forecasted heavy rainfall in Kerala and TN. Due to the possibility of intense squalls and torrential rains, a red alert has been announced in both the states. Fishermen have been warned not to venture out to sea. The Indian Navy too has been asked to be prepared to take up relief and rescue operations, if need be.
