The Supreme Court on Monday said that a “complete ban” cannot be imposed on holding protests and sit-ins at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, and asked the Central government to frame guidelines for according sanctions to such events. Last year, the National Green Tribunal had ordered a ban on protests and sit-ins at Jantar Mantar and Boat Club citing that these activities contravene environmental laws.
