The Supreme Court today ordered the Centre to refund around Rs 104 crore to Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications. This amount is the balance of the bank guarantee for spectrum, to be paid to RCom by Centre. A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Rohinton Nariman said this in its order and also rejected the Centre's petition against an earlier tribunal ruling ordering the refund. "We don't find any merits in the appeal," said the bench of justices RF Nariman and S Ravindra Bhat. This case is one of the many battles between RCom and the telecom department over dues.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने आज केंद्र को अनिल अंबानी की अगुवाई वाली रिलायंस कम्युनिकेशंस को लगभग 104 करोड़ रुपये वापस करने का आदेश दिया। यह राशि स्पेक्ट्रम के लिए बैंक गारंटी का शेष है, जिसे केंद्र द्वारा आरकॉम को भुगतान किया जाना है। न्यायमूर्ति रोहिंटन नरीमन की अध्यक्षता वाली सर्वोच्च न्यायालय की दो-न्यायाधीशों की पीठ ने अपने आदेश में यह बात कही और साथ ही धन वापसी का आदेश देने वाले  न्यायालय के पूर्व फैसले के खिलाफ केंद्र की याचिका को खारिज भी कर दिया। जस्टिस आरएफ नरीमन और एस रवींद्र भट की बेंच ने कहा, "हमें अपील में कोई विशेषता नहीं मिली।" यह मामला बकाया राशि पर आरकॉम और दूरसंचार विभाग के बीच कई लड़ाइयों में से एक है।
