The Supreme Court on Tuesday reproached the Central government and said that centre has done "contempt of court” by not framing a Cauvery water sharing scheme between the four states. The bench said that once the judgment has been delivered on this issue, then it should be implemented. The CJI stated that court was not keen to let the matter linger and that the Centre cannot abdicate its duty to frame the scheme. The court has fixed the next hearing of the case on May 14.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मंगलवार को केंद्र सरकार को आड़े हाथों लिया और कहा की चार राज्यों के बीच कावेरी जल बंटवारे की योजना तैयार नहीं करके केंद्र ने "न्यायालय की अवमानना" की है। न्यायपीठ ने कहा कि जब एक बार इस मुद्दे पर फैसला दिया जा चुका है, तो उसे लागू किया जाना चाहिए। CJI ने कहा कि अदालत इस मामले को विलम्बित करने की इच्छुक नहीं थी और केंद्र इस योजना को तैयार करने के अपने कर्तव्य का त्याग नहीं कर सकता है। अदालत ने मामले की अगली सुनवाई अब 14 मई को तय की है।
